Hey,

still sorting the pictures and more, but we made it to the Delbert cruise and back. The Paul Thorn Band played 2 gigs. The first one was in the Vermeer lounge with plenty of new, great songs. It was funny to hear the story that Fred Eaglesmith claimed to be Paul just to get all the women. Dr. Love started btw his presidential campaign for 2012 and a number of celebreties, including Heather Waters, were spotted wearing the campaign shirt. The second gig was scheduled on the Lido deck, but due to the weather condition it was moved inside to the Vermeer lounge and instead of one and a half hour the show got cut back to 45 minutes;-( BUT, the band played 7 songs with a 4 piece horn section (Mingo Fishtrap plus Thad Scott from Marcia Balls band) which made it sound extra crispy! They played the following horned up songs:

- High
- Lovers Vacaction
- Ain't Love Strange
- That's a Lie
- Every Little Bit Hurts
- Nothing but the Devil
- Mission Temple Fireworks Stand

During the encore Mike Farris joined on Will the Circle be Unbroken and made the party complete. It was great seeing the band again, and hopefully it won't take too long for the next time.

Great review...and I was there, too! It really was incredible and my first SBC. I laughed all week about the Fred Eaglesmith thing and Paul coming up to the stage acting like he was boxing. And, then Paul wearing one of Fred's shirts for the last encore really left everyone laughing. I can't wait to see the PTB several times this year. Please come to Nashville or nearby!

Sandy
